Zune music player could come with ads!
In an article from Dina Bass from Bloomberg we
can read:
Microsoft has doubled its ad sales force in the past year to "hundreds,'' said Bradford, 43, who oversees ad sales. The company in May bought new York-based Massive Inc. to sell video- game ads, and Microsoft's new Office Live Internet service has sold out its entire ad inventory to companies such as Dell Inc. and Bank of America Corp.
Two new products, the Zune music player and the MSN Soapbox video service, plan to carry ads as well. In the future, Microsoft may look at print and radio advertising, said Yusuf Mehdi, 39, who was appointed chief advertising strategist in March. <
We could not have more information at this time on how the ads will be implemented in the Zune player but we hope that it is not going to be in the music downloaded with the "flat fee subscription base". Who wants to listen to ads between songs on their mp3 player!

It is quite clear from the amount of hits I am experiencing on www.zunemarketplace.com this whole campaign is already in full swing. The amout of direct hits and those from google is huge. I am expecting this to explode after 14th Nov.
Good luck to Microsoft and their new product!
