Zune.net does the Promotion of Podcasts!

If you are a registered member of zune.net, you probably received an e-mail today from zune.net. The e-mail does not give any interesting info but when you visit the zune.net website you will see that the site as been updated. Microsoft as fully integrated Pricegrabber online shop for all things Microsoft Zune. And most of the pages have been updated.

But even more important, there is now a section called “pass it on”, that does the promotion of Zune-to-Zune sharing and has a clear focus on ….Podcast! Does this mean that we may have a Podcast management update sooner than expected? Paul Colligan from Zuneluv would be happy!

Microsoft always said that podcast management was on the list of future features of the Zune software but they never said when and how they are going to do this. This may be the first step towards the full podcast support from the Zune!

UPDATE: Sounds like a developing story! One of our reader, williamc, spotted this small image on npr.org. The image does not seem to be use at this point but could be linked to the upcoming zune podcast strategy...thanks for williamc's sharp eye! Was it a mistake? I can't find this on the zune.net site anywhere. I wonder if they accidentally posted this update then yanked it down...

Ah yes... I see it! Now, if we can only get ZM to allow us to easily grab podcasts and sync to the Zune them like iTunes does!

The "Pass This On" page has been up for weeks now. I was hoping for the same but I don't think we're going to get it yet.
