Apple Awarded Patent for Doubleshot Effect

This came in as a surprise but Apple today was successfully granted a patent for an "electronic device formed with doubleshot injection molding."

The patent originally filed in August 2005 refers to the same type of doubleshot effect used by Microsoft on the Zune player and accessories. You can see the doubleshot effect on edges of the Zune on the picture.

Is this going to end up in a legal dispute? Can we consider Microsoft’s doubleshot effect the same as Apple’s doubleshot. Time will tell.
