Zune Phone Rumors…Again

Rumors of the upcoming Zune phone are surfacing again this week. These are based only on 12 patents filed by Microsoft that are pointing on a phone or mobile device. Among the patents that Mad4Mobiles found are speech enhancement/filtering, an on-screen keyboard, capacitance touch slider, contact display, health monitoring, clamshell form factor, and remote control of playback on a remote device.

But nothing tells us that a Zune phone would be released this year or even next year. We still need to see a Flash Zune before that. Microsoft always said that a Zune phone was on the roadmap, but they also said that Zune was 3 years plan as well.

So take this with a grain of salt even if we all want to see how good or bad Microsoft could do compared to the iPhone. Remember that Microsoft can released a close ecosystem like the Zune and still back a Playforsure initiative...Who knows why those patents are for!

Now that would be a really nice phone.... especially if it is a clamshell design. One thing I am afraid of with the iPhone is that the face would get bruised easily since you can't close it.
