Zune Announcement on Monday?

Ironically, iLounge is the one announcing a "rumor" about an event in Redmond on Monday for an announcement related to Zune. We know something is coming soon. We are just not sure how much we are going to have from this annoucement. We were not that lucky this week with the May 1st annoucement limited to exclusive content from South Africa.

A few things we have been waiting for:

What is your call? Post a comment!

If Monday is not D-Day, for sure an announcement will be made in the next few weeks anyways.

We're hearing that Microsoft's holding an event in Redmond on Monday to preview/announce a new Zune - most likely the flash-based one the company's been hinting at for a while. No other details yet; if there's something worth telling you about on Monday, we'll let you know. [iLounge via Zune-online]

I really hope they will update the wifi features to allow users to connect wirelessly to PC's, Xbox 360, or download & buy songs directly from the zune. COME ON MICROSOFT

any new fetures would be nice. hehe we might get a clock now! heehee

Any of the above are great...

However, if they wanted to be straight up pimp, they'd announce Zune 60, 80, and 100Gb all in one go!

Seriously though...they throw out a 100Gb model and 3 more colors to launch it off...they'd own the market.

I hope they will improve the actual Zune before releasing a new one...

My guess it will the be a smaller unit we've heard rumors about. And if we're lucky, perhaps 1 or 2 feature updates to the overall Zune platform. That would be a very good day indeed.

Interestingly XBox 360 has a dashboard update coming out next week too. I ask Cesar as ZuneInsider if there is anything in this update for Zune. He doubts there will be any improvements to XBox/Zune integration.

Silverlight on the Zune

They will talk about reality, lack of sales, why it sucks and then discuss the end of Zune.

New marketing campaign, podcasts and a new color sounds more reasonable. Realistically, I don't think they would announce such a HUGE upgrade to the hardware in the middle of the products life-cycle, so I'd think small (but definitely good).

Personally, I like to think small, then be totally blown away if they exceed my expectations. That's how I run with pretty much all new gadgets.

This is very exciting, though! I was thinking of just new ads, like Cesar mentioned.

:)
