Zune Rumor Smashed: “No Zune Announcement Today”
Posted by Stephane Dion
Well, we had to be prepared for that! iLounge started a buzz on Friday about a possible Zune announcement today but Cesar from the Zune team says forget it!
Don't be too disappointed by that, it's just a matter of a couple of weeks before we get at least a new marketing campaign and a new Zune color!
UPDATE: Even after Microsoft said that no Zune announcement was scheduled for today, iLounge posted : "The rumor turned out to be true. We’ll have more details in a bit." I'm still not sure if this is a joke or if they have really bad tipsters! Thanks Giant-Sheep

Ha! That's sort of funny. I wonder why/how these rumors get started in the first place.
At least we can't pin The Zune Team for not delivering something they never said they would.
I am excited to see the new ad campaign, though.

iLounge is now reporting that they have somehow confirmed this rumour to be true. Confusing. I'm not really looking forward to a new Zune anyway, I'm just glad I have my "old" Zune.

how many more weeks of spring are there, six, and MS said long ago the feature update was coming. There are constant internet rumors, that prove to be false, that come out frequently, what kind of personnel are running this division anyway.
My guess is that the second coming of Jesus will come before MS boosts it offering for our zunes. I feel so ripped off.

It always takes time with Microsoft, but they always have a plan. It was the same with Xbox Live but just look how well that turned out. Just be patient. I expect Zune to merge well with Microsoft's Live strategy in the coming months/year.

Well, Microsoft did also announce a DJ-function and so far I haven't seen it. So sometimes they have a plan and sometimes they don't. If they would ask me I would know how to win the battle with the Ipod, or at least give it a better try. Now they let Apple win and letting Apple keep the initiative. Why doesn't Zune takes the initiative, like introducing the PeerStreamer...

Ask Cesar about this link and when it comes http://research.microsoft.com/%7Ejinl/2005/peerstreaming/peerstreaming.htm
I guess he didn't know about this, but it's the future thing of Zune... (remember my words!)
