Zune Marketplace Gets an Upgrade Today
Rocks are being to move in Zune land. A note on the Zune marketplace says that a four hour shut down was scheduled for 5 AM this morning.
The downtime is said to be used to upgrade the Zune marketplace service.
Are we going to see new features right away? Not too sure about that but Zune videos and movies would be great.
Let us know if you spot anything new this morning.
[Thanks Paul]
UPDATE: Zune Marketplace downtime is over. Improved performance? The Zune marketplace seems to have gain "a lot" in performance with the upgrade. This still needs to be confirmed by Microsoft but from what I see, you can surf the Zune marketplace way faster than before the upgrade. Have you noticed the same thing?
For some reasons, I lost access to Zune pass even though my account still says that I'm a Zune Pass subscriber!!! Maybe they're not completely back on. Let's wait a bit.
Here's a podcast that talks about the upgrade (skip the first 10 minutes). No new features have been added to the Zune Markeplace or Xbox Live today. But the back-end has been upgraded and new hardware have been installed as well.

No zunepass for me too......

I have the same problem. It recognizes my Zune pass, but won't let me listen to or download music. Every option is for purchase only. Called Zune support who were aware of the problem and told me to try again tomorrow!

Yep, exact same problem here. Also another thing I noticed today was the track progress bar stopped working on all of my mp3's since this patch!
