A Reflection on Podcasts and Zunes

RawVoice, a podcasting outfit, recently posted an interesting note on their blog about the growth of Zune downloads in the first two weeks of the year. They noted with particular focus how Zune users listening to their podcast was "way up."

RawVoice found their podcast download numbers up by about 15 percent. A large amount of this growth is attributed to Zune growth, particularly since the Zune team made podcasts easy to find in the MarketPlace.

Apple iTunes growth, by contrast, was apparently not the same. RawVoice was somewhat critical of iTunes, saying the interface "makes it virtually impossible for listeners to find shows that are not featured on the front page."
