Zune Features Embedded in Windows Mobile 7?

It's no secret that Microsoft is working on a version 7 of Windows Mobile. But what we didn't know, is that Zune features could be built into Microsoft next Mobile operating system!

Screenshots of what Windows Mobile 7 could be have been published today by InsideMicrosoft. Nobody will be surprise to see iPhone-like feature, but more specifically, a music related screenshot is clearly showing a Zune icon with the option to purchase the song. Gooood... How deep Zune could be embedded in WE7 is a complete mystery for now. Let start the speculation frenzy here!

Anyhow, that's really interesting and it fits perfectly into Microsoft's philosophy of building a complete consumer electronic ecosystem built-on Microsoft technologies and software.

Thanks Greg!

I was just about to post about that one. For some reason, I think this screenshot is faked though, even though it's already on major websites like engadget, because I can see the itunes podcast icon under the Zune logo. Weird, Huh?? I hope it's not fake, because every other screenshot looks legitimate, and I'm hoping they do tie everything together nicely.

no that's not the iTunes' podcast icon. It's the Podcast's podcast icon. iTunes does not own podcasts.

My major concern is the camera motion sensor system. I'm concerned about how the system would recognize I'm walking with the device. Would it still register my gestures? And wouldn't it require more battery consumption? I'm very curious how MS would resolve these issues...

I don't buy anything in that screenshot, it's total "concept" stuff, those icons don't make sense, for example, the icons along the top (the horizontal scrolling a la media center / xbox fall 07 dashboard update is microsoft's new black) are just random icons that are doubled.

Same thing where the zune icon is, your other icons are a podcast icon, cool... the two eighth notes, one eighth note, etc... they're just random icons the designer probably had easy access to to throw the mockup together.
