Dreaming the Possibilities: a Y!Phone

Imagine for a moment what it might be like if the ugly pending proxy fight between Yahoo and Microsoft turned into an actual forced merger. What might the Zune look like when the dust settles? Probably not much different but that didn't stop the guys over at ZDNet from letting their minds wander into what might be conceived.

Jason Perlow speculates a "Y!Phone" might incorporate "the features of the Zune portable media player, Wi-Fi connectivity and integration with all the Yahoo! and MSN/Microsoft online assets." It would, of course, be Windows Media focused as well.

We think this is cool, but also agree with Perlow in that the design would need something which much more sex appeal if it has a prayer of competing with the iPhone. Oh, and don't forget a better UI as well.
