Zune Hack: Upgrade your Zune 80 to a Zune 120
Posted by Stephane Dion
Of course, buy at your own risk and remember that attempting to
install a HDD in you Zune 80 will instantly void your warranty. Who will first try to perform this Zune hack? Any volunteer?
Speaking of Zune 120. Do you think the next Zune device will be a Zune 120, Zune 160 or even a Zune 250?
More pictures after the jump...

I was going to do this with my 30GB, and then the 80GB was announced and now I realize I won't need all of that space for another few months anyways, so I hope they come out with a 120GB as the base product, a 160GB as a $50-75 upgrade or a 250GB for $100-$150 more than the 120GB. If they only have 1 option, then hopefully it will be 120GB, because I don't think they have gotten the 160GB's as thin as the current 80GB drives, which they have already done with the 120GB drives.

I was planning on doing this with my Zune 80, but ZIF drives like that are impossibly hard to find if you don't order online (which I almost never do).

What's the point of spending $150 to get an extra 40GB, when you can just sell your existing Zune80 for around $150 and then buy a brand new Zune 120GB for $250? Cost of upgrade = $100... cheaper than replacing the hard drive. People would snap up Zune 80s in good condition, should be easy to get $150 for them.
