zAlternator Brings Zune iTunes Love?
Posted by Stephane Dion
If you are looking for a different media application to sync your Zune with, you've largely been out of luck up to this point. Now a new hack has come along which is looking to change that - it is called zAlternator.
zAlternator works with an "unlocked" Zune which, according to this Zune Boards post, you can do yourself via a relatively simple four step process. After unlocking you'll find you should be able to sync it through other applications such as Windows Media Player 11, Winamp and MediaMonkey.
It may also work with iTunes...perhaps...

Thanks, but I'll stick with the Zune software. I know that it's not yet feature rich. And it still has a few bugs (but better with each release!). But I personally danced with joy the day that I was able to remove iTunes from my computer for good. I was never a fan. It is big, bloated, slow, ugly, wants to own my computer, and is itself sadly lacking in much functionality.

Well, I've tried both software and find that the zune software is not only lacking in major options, it is difficult to sync to the zune device. iTunes offers playlists, that sadly don't work in zune. Zune also separates out songs from compilation CD's so that you have to search for an artist in the zune device instead of the whole album. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. It's just a nightmare to use after learning iTunes!
