Zune Owners Love the FM Radio
"The Zune has an FM receiver
because a Microsoft product study found that 46 percent of Zune owners
listen to the radio receiver function at least once a week," he said.
"And the radio feature has higher-than-average importance to Zune
owners, scoring 8 out of 9 points."
Do you spend a lot of time using the FM radio feature on your Zune? Did you even know your Zune has a FM radio? I guess it is more popular for Zune owners to enjoy the FM function than I thought, at least according to published comments from the CEO of the Radio Advertising Bureau, Jeff Haley.
Haley's Zune comments, as reported by Radio Ink, center around how the radio industry should more rapidly embrace digital platforms. He talked about the Zune as an example of a platform, saying:
Haley went on to add Microsoft found almost three-quarters of those surveyed put down radio as "their primary source for new music."
I guess radio isn't quite dead after all. Time to use that FM function on my Zune.

I never use the radio but in case of nuclear attack or disaster it would be nice to have.
So I'm glad my Zune has one. But honestly I don't care much for radio or commercials for that matter.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but another BIG bonus for having the radio built-in is also having the ability to listen to my Sirius radio thru my Zune. I have it based on the second floor of my house and I can walk pretty much all of it while listening to my Sirius.

I use the radio function often and love how it tells me the radio station and sometimes even the song too that i'm listening too. The song title and artist depends on the station and signal strength i believe cause sometimes i get and other times not. Its amazing FM Tuner and love it.
Zunes are awesome.

I use my FM a lot more than I expected. What I listen to on my device isnt like ANYTHING on the radio, and its nice to have something to switch to quickly if I need local updates

I am one the few Canadians that have a zune 80. I love my radio and listen to it mostly every day. We have a JACK FM here in Calgary and I love the morning show. Also, in Canada the radio stations are different and broadcast at a higher power, which means a longer range than American radio stations, (you know, because there is a whole lot of nothing up here). The reception is amazing and it is a nice alternative when you don't feel like looking for music to listen to all the time.

Hi , I'm french and I like very much zune.
A few days ago I dicover somehing you can download french podcast with the zune software!Incredible isn't it??
So first you have to pick-up the URL of the podcast you want with itune and clic on " add a new podcast " in the zune software and then write the URL , the podcast will be download automatically and you don't gonna have to use itune, of course you can use it in USA if you wan't a podcast who is not in the Zune Markeplace!

I love the radio on my zune. but what kills me is why does micro$oft not take a clue from other devices. This thing has wifi. If you are going to but a radio in it why not give it Wifi radio capabilities. I have seen those cool little wifi radios and every time i say that could be in the zune with a simple software update. You could plug in the url of your favorite local or online station and listen where ever you have wifi. That would be way too simple though.
